It’s 2019, and we were promised jetpacks and flying cars (and honestly, we thought it’d be easier to stream NFL games online by now).

Still, despite the above joke, it’s now easier than ever to watch your favorite NFL team online through a few legal services, preventing the need for clunky illegal streams with ad overlays and virus threats.

So how does one go about legally watching the 2019 NFL season online without cable? Below, we’ll break down our favorite and most popular ways to do so.

Stream local NFL games and ESPN with Hulu Live

If you’re looking for a way to stream a game on NBC or FOX, Hulu Live will have you covered. Make sure your local market broadcast is available on Hulu (most are). This is a great way to get access to major network television live when it airs, as well as a back catalog of great services. If your team is on Monday Night Football, the great news is Hulu also streams ESPN live, so you’ll get full access to those games as well.

Want to watch NFL RedZone or The NFL Network for Thursday Night Football?

There are two great options for getting instant access to NFL RedZone or The NFL Network. First, Sling TV, which has packages starting at $25 a month (with a little extra for access to NFL RedZone), will get you watching the octobox in no time. Before you sign up for a subscription, you can get a full free trial of their service. Check out this exclusive deal here:

The other option is Fubo TV. Fubo started as a service aiming to make international sports more easily streamable in the United States, but has evolved into one of the best ways to watch NFL games online. They’re a little bit more expensive than Hulu and Sling, but if you’re a hardcore sports fan, we think you’ll enjoy their service. You can get full access to their free trial here:

Watch CBS NFL games online

CBS is funny because they built out their own proprietary streaming app, Paramount+. If your local game is on CBS, you’ll need to use their service. It’s super cheap (less than $10 a month), and gives you access to a huge back catalog of CBS shows as well. If you’re looking to simply watch one game on their network, great news, get full access to their trial here:

Use a VPN to access out-of-network NFL games

If you live in a part of the world where your favorite team’s game isn’t available, but you’re hoping to access it, you can use a service called a VPN. This type of service will allow you to “set” your location to wherever your game is streaming on a streaming service, and then using that service, get full access to those local games.

Let’s say the Seahawks are playing the Giants on FOX, but you live in Texas, so you only have access to the Cowboys game. You can sign up for NordVPN, and use your subscription to a service like Hulu Live to pick a location where the Seahawks vs. Giants game is available on a local broadcast.
