Networks and Services Streaming Copa MX Matches This Year
Copa MX was formerly known as Copa Mexico, Copa Tower, and Copa Eliminatoria. It is a Mexican football or soccer cup competition originally established back in 1907. However, following its establishment was a lengthy hiatus only recently restarting in 1997. Early editions consisted of both an amateur and professional league. It was also the first official soccer tournament which included teams from various parts of Mexico and was considered the most prestigious events especially during its early years. The purpose of the Copa MX was to determine a national champion which helped distinguish it from local league championships. It also had a slightly different format compared to other leagues namely a direct elimination during a final which resulted in more fanfare compared to other Mexican leagues. Currently, there are two annual competitions which use a format resembling the one used by the Liga MX. Finally, winners from each edition of the league go on to compete in the SuperCopa MX.
